In light rain, Kygo and Julia Michaels performed Carry Me at Marcana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro in front of 91.000 enthusiastic audience on August 21. Many millions more were watching at home around the world.
“It was kind of unreal. I never thought I was going to play at the Olympics,” Kygo told the Olympic Channel prior to the performance.
The song Carry me is featured on Kygo’s popular Cloud Nine album. During the live performance Kygo stands in one spot playing a large keyboard and small synth that trigger most of the effects in the track while Michaels move around the stage in a green jumpsuit singing the vocals. Dancers eventually joined them in the center of the arena, and the epic performance concluded with an explosion of smoke and fireworks.
