Kygo and Ava Max have been honored with Song of the Year (Årets Låt) at Spellemannprisen, the Norwegian equivalent of the Grammy Awards, for their hit single “Whatever.”
Released in January 2024, the track quickly climbed the charts, reaching number one in Norway and securing top 10 positions across Europe.
“Whatever” which is a reimagined take on Shakira’s iconic “Whenever, Wherever,” blends nostalgic pop elements with Kygo’s signature tropical house sound and Ava Max’s powerful vocals. The award was announced during the Spellemann ceremony in Oslo.
This marks Kygo’s second win in the Song of the Year category, following his 2015 victory with “Stole the Show.”
